Diverse Populations & Healthcare

Assignment Description:
Part 1: For this assignment, conduct a cultural self-assessment using the Staircase Self-Assessment Model and write a 1250–1500-word reflection essay.
To understand culture and cultural diversity, you must understand your own culture and beliefs. Utilizing the Staircase Self-Assessment Model as a means of determining your level of cultural competency, write a 1250 to 1500-word essay outlining the six stages: cultural destructiveness, cultural incapacity, cultural blindness, pre-competency, basic cultural competency, and advance cultural competency. Determine your level on the staircase by answering the following questions. Please be mindful that your responses will not be judged; only your knowledge of the Staircase Self-Assessment Model will be evaluated:
Step 1:
• How much do I value becoming culturally competent?
• What actions have I taken recently or in the past when caring for culturally diverse patients that demonstrate my motivation?
Step 2:
• How much do I know about my cultural heritage or racial identity and its relationship to my own healthcare beliefs and practices?
• Have I discussed these issues with my parents, grandparents, or other relatives?
Step 3:
• How much do I know about cultural groups that differ from my own?
Step 4:
• How culturally diverse is my social network?
• How many encounters with cultural group members outside my social network do I have? Are these relationships superficial, or do I have social contact beyond the workplace?
Step 5:
• Am I able to independently identify the potential or actual problems that originate from cultural conflicts, or am I surprised by them?
• Do I serve as a culturally competent role model/mentor for others?
Step 6:
• Have I developed problem-solving strategies to manage cultural conflicts?
• Am I able to manage or resolve cultural problems or issues that arise, and what resources do I use?
Once you have completed the self-assessment, address the following questions:
1. Why are self-knowledge and understanding a critical step in achieving cultural competence?
2. How has the “cultural self-assessment” exercise influenced your awareness of personal and professional values, attitudes, and practices, including prejudices and biases?
3. How will your interactions with patients and families change as a result of this self-reflection?
Remember, you answer these questions from your perspective, so there is no right or wrong response. You must address each question. Although the information on your self-assessment paper is strictly confidential, if you do not wish to self-disclose a specific area from the Staircase, indicate that by explaining in detail why you do not want to disclose. You are not required to provide citations/references in this paper. Attention should be paid to grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

Marital Satisfaction

With divorce rates hovering around 50%, therapists are often
called upon to “fix” what is wrong with relationships.
For this paper, instead of focusing on the negatives or what
is “wrong” in a relationship, critique the two professional articles related to
marital satisfaction.

– Compare and contrast the two approaches identified in the
articles and include:
1. A summary of the articles,
2. An overview of the content,
3. An analysis of the article’s findings or conclusions, and
4. A discussion of what seems to work in successful
relationships.

– Discuss each article’s value in terms of:
1. the information you
could use in couples therapy,
2. what approaches you might incorporate within
your own therapeutic sessions.

Analyzing privacy Issues relating to P2P networks

Lab # 2: Analyzing
privacy Issues relating to P2P networks
In a traditional
computer network, one or more central servers typically provide all of the
services
available
on the network. An example of this is the numerous FTP (File Transfer Protocol)
and HTTP
(HyperText
Transfer Protocol) servers on the Internet that provide file resources for
download from
clients
seeking these services. In contrast to this client-server model of a network,
another approach is
to
distribute the brunt of providing services among the nodes, or peers, such that
each node is both a
client and
a server. This type of network is called a peer-to-peer (P2P) network.

More
technically, a P2P network is a special type of computer network that exhibits
self-organization, symmetric communication, and distributed control. The
network is self-organizing in that there is typically no centralization of
resources. As a result, link capacity is typically distributed throughout peers
in the network, and as a result control is distributed, as well. As such, the
P2P network model stands in direct contrast to the traditional client-server
networking model. Whereas a client-server network requires that the server has
copious link capacity to feed clients, a P2P network pools the resources of
each peer for the common good. However, due to the decentralized and peer-relying
nature of P2P networks, they are also susceptible to attacks, which we will
explore in this paper.

First, we present some background on P2P networks, including its inception,
rise in popularity as an application, and its querying structure. Next, we
examine different ways that P2P networks are often attacked, including denying
services, contaminating the network, and compromising personal information of
the peers. Finally, we look at some solutions to the attacks and security
issues.

Task1:
First,
present some background on P2P networks, including its inception, rise in
popularity as an application, and its querying structure.

Task2:
Examine
different ways that P2P networks are often attacked, including denying
services, contaminating the network, and compromising personal information of
the peers.

Task3:
List
solutions to the attacks and security issues

How should Richard make sure that the attachment is not malicious?

Post a total of 3 substantive responses over 2 separate days for full participation. This includes your initial post and 2 replies to classmates or your faculty member.

Due Day 3
Richard received an email from a person claiming to be his childhood friend, Kate. The email address is unknown to Richard, but the subject says that it is Kate’s new email address. It also has an attachment, which according to the subject, is a childhood picture of them.
Respond to the following in a minimum of 175 words:
* What steps should Richard take to verify the authenticity of Kate’s new email ID?
* How should Richard make sure that the attachment is not malicious?
Due Day 7
Post 2 replies to classmates or your faculty member. Be constructive and professional.
Reply 1(Chad Tolliver):
Once Richard has been made aware that he has received a email from a supposedly childhood friend Kate he needs to review the email to ensure the authenticity of the email before opening the attachment. The first red flag is that the email address is unknown to Richard, and how to recognize malicious emails it states that a suspicious or malicious email with attachments or links is usually received from a sender that is unknown to the individual receiving the email. So as Richard aware he doesn’t know the sender Richard will then need to check the information given for the following.
* The email address
* The subject of the email
* The attachment information
As for the subject if it was a childhood friend reaching out it should state that rather than stating Kate has a new email address, and also the attachment of a childhood photo is just a way to get Richard to click to see, due to it has no relevance to the email.

Richard can take it a step father to ensure that the attachment is not malicious by scanning the email attachments for the presence of Malware. Once the scan is complete Richard will be given the results as to the email containing Malware or that the email is free from the presence of Malware.

Reply 2 Mason Hashimoto:

Aloha class happy week three hope everything has been going well for everyone. And let’s jump into this weeks discussion. Richard has quite a few steps he can take to verify if Kates new email ID is really her or not. Having been in a similar situation I have a lot of perspective on this matter and some things that I did to verify if this really was an old friend of mine or not was to do a little bit of stocking on social media whether it’s Instagram Facebook or TikTok to at least find the person. After that if that doesn’t work out then reaching out to anyone who might know her just to double check to see if this really is her or if they received anything similar as well . in my situation I actually ended up finding out that my friends email was hacked in everyone on her email contact list receive the exact same email. As far as the attachments go I would recommend Richard not click on anything until he can verify the authenticity of the email even most great antivirus software‘s can still be vulnerable to some types of malware I seen in attachments. Also it would kind of be fun to see what happens after you verify it’s not real and see how much she can mess with that.

night surfing

A narrative essay 750 words. My topic is night surfing.I had already posted part of it in class.
I need the name Ikaika a good friend in the essay. Topic Night Surfing. I have part of it.
and fix up my writing
The part I wrote:
Kikaula and I always goes surfing together. He’s an old school friend. We went to high school together. Families no one another.
Surfing at night is so different from day. Your visibility is reduced so I gotta judge on my instincts.Night surfing is calming and relaxing for me. It gives me a different kind of calmness.Surfing near a resort close to surf breaks is best. Its about catching that right wave.
Surfing with a full moon and the stars does something to the tides.
Anyway I recall catching a beautiful wave, wind blowing in my face. The energy going through my surfboard, such a long ride I had. Feeling no pain, just free. Until it abruptly threw me on the reef. I landed on my feet, then it was like someone throwing my board at me. Good thing I caught it. I was shocked thinking what happened.I picked up my board stepping on reef trying to get back into ocean. I’m thinking, did I treat someone bad today.
You see, I believe the ocean conditions interact with my conditions. What I ate, what I drank,How much sleep I had,how happy I am, how angry. How much love I have.If I am relaxed, If I am afraid, how much energy I have. How focus am I, how quick, how strong and how brave.
Then I remembered my mom did not want me surfing on this night, something about a dream she had. But I went surfing anyway. That is my peace time.
We start surfing at around midnight until 3am.

if you can blend my story in that’s great. Narrative essay.
