Where can we find good research?
Industrial and Organizational Psychology professionals utilize a science-practitioner model to explore their field and apply what they have learned to the workforce. Using Table 1.6 in your text, identify one journal frequently used by Industrial and Organizational Psychology professionals. Briefly describe the journal including its overall goal and how it reviews and selects articles for publication. A good place to find this information is the submissions guidelines page of the website for that journal.
Using the Purdue Global library and/or Google Scholar, identify an article from this journal published since 2015. Summarize the article in the style commonly referred to as an annotated bibliography and discuss what you found interesting about the article. When responding to your peers’ posts make sure to comment on what you learned from the article they posted and any follow up questions you would have for the researchers.
Your Annotated Bibliography should be based on the APA sample found here:

What needs to change in order for our country’s population to accept health care reform at any level? Is a single payer system the only way (if so how would you propose to pay for it>do not just say “the government will pay for it” because the government is already in heavy debt and is broke)? Discuss information in your textbook and how you would address these issues.

Discussion: Estimating Models Using Dummy Variables
You have had plenty of opportunity to interpret coefficients for metric variables in regression models. Using and interpreting categorical variables takes just a little bit of extra practice. In this Discussion, you will have the opportunity to practice how to recode categorical variables so they can be used in a regression model and how to properly interpret the coefficients. Additionally, you will gain some practice in running diagnostics and identifying any potential problems with the model.
To prepare for this Discussion:
Review Warner’s Chapter 12 and Chapter 2 of the Wagner course text and the media program found in this week’s Learning Resources and consider the use of dummy variables.
Create a research question using the General Social Survey dataset that can be answered by multiple regression. Using the SPSS software, choose a categorical variable to dummy code as one of your predictor variables.
By Day 3
Estimate a multiple regression model that answers your research question. Post your response to the following:
What is your research question?
Interpret the coefficients for the model, specifically commenting on the dummy variable.
Run diagnostics for the regression model. Does the model meet all of the assumptions? Be sure and comment on what assumptions were not met and the possible implications. Is there any possible remedy for one the assumption violations?

Are the Japanese treated unsympathetically, as mere props for the drama going on in the psyche of the Westerner?
Stream the dramatic feature film, Silence (2016, directed by Martin Scorcese) at Youtube, Netflix, Amazon.com or elsewhere.
Before watching the film Silence, review your notes on the documentary Empires: Japan, The Will of the Shogun from WEEK TWO.
Submit an answer to the prompt. Write in complete sentences and essay form. Submissions that are clear, that demonstrate familiarity with the material and thoughtful preparation will receive the highest scores.
PROMPT: The documentary we watched in WEEK TWO, The Will of the Shogun, provides information about the same period in Japan depicted in this week’s film, Silence. In The Will of the Shogun, events are portrayed more from the point of view of the Shogunate, and a connection is made between the Japanese peasants’ attraction to Christianity and the economic oppression which the peasant class suffered due to the Shogunate’s policies. In Silence, these aspects of the story are in the background. The focus of Silence is more on the faith struggles of the Portuguese Jesuit missionaries, and it is less clear that the faith of the Japanese Christians may be related to the economic and political conditions they are suffering in feudal Japan. By focusing on the missionaries and the cruelty of the Japanese authorities, and by leaving the economic/political oppression of the Japanese peasants in the background, are the filmmakers of Silence being unfair to the Japanese? Are the Japanese treated unsympathetically, as mere props for the drama going on in the psyche of the Westerner? Or are the Japanese, both the authorities and the peasants, depicted in a way that gives the audience a fair representation of their concerns and motivations? Be specific in support of your answers.
