App idea – social media

We have an app idea as following we would like you to work on the social media part of it. Please write a paper about how can we utilize social media for this app.

You will see the app details below.

ORANGE COUNTY SPORT APP
An App that collects the sports characteristics of people who play sports such as tennis, football, golf, volleyball, basketball, etc. .. where you have to compete against each other or teams, who can download the App and create their own profile by placing their physical characteristics and the level of their skills.
In this way a person who wants to play a tennis match, if he has no friend available, can find someone available in the area with the characteristics suitable for him.
It can be seen as a cross between a simple App and a social network, as then people stay in touch, a bit like what happens on LinkedIn about work.
There is also a catalog or list of locations divided by tennis courts, soccer field, basketball pitch, etc. and the possibility of choosing your favorite time and paying the rent via the mobile App.
In addition, it has an integrated navigation system that provides a map to get there, recommended equipment and other amenities or facilities such as a bar, restaurant, parking area.

Additional information about the app (optinal to read it)

For the last few years, when COVID hit the world, we can see a big problem with people being socializing with each other. As a result, many people sit in homes as in their bunkers, spending most of their time in front of the screens which negatively affects their mobility, physical and mental health. Building new healthy and strong communities has never been important as it is today.

Communities where sport and recreation plays an important part in people’s life tend to be stronger, healthier and happier compared to the ones that do not practice physical activity. Such communities can be built based on groups of people within the sport or recreation that have different requirements (Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, 2019). Identifying such groups has been challenging.
We believe that creating crowdsourcing applications that can identify those requirements based on the built algorithm can resolve many problems. In addition, the ability of finding the right person to play a particular sport at a particular time and place without really spending time on such organizational aspects would provoke a person to actually do the activity.
Research found that children that do different types of activities actually have better behavior, better memory, concentration, and as a result they make better progress at school (Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, 2019). So, doing physical activity is really one of the aspects of creating a better society. And creating a tool that helps to find for a user a buddy, or a group of people that he can play some sport with is beneficial for the society as well. It may sound bizarre, but our app will help people to stay away from their digital devices as they can spend more time doing physical activity outside with likeminded people that they just found online with help of the app.

Through this modality, we can add external resources to those already existing by sharing knowledge and information.
Thanks to a large “crowd” of potential users, the large number and diversity of their contributions can be exploited to generate innovative ideas and a rich and effective database.
In fact, by sharing needs and objectives, we try to solve problems or rather to satisfy some expectations in the field of recreational sports.
The variety of information offered by the interface of our App allows users the freedom to build their profile and thus be able to find a suitable player.
The system offers the user to enter his age; declare his date of birth; declare the city of residence; insert the zip code as well as obviously a physical description indicating height, weight, body type, and sports practiced with a relative level of knowledge and skill.
The geolocation and routing servers then represent the other fundamental aspect of this App.
Once you have indicated your position, you can enter the address of the sports facility where you want to go, you will see on the map the route established by car or by walking and the relative travel time to reach your destination.
Once you have identified the contact that corresponds to your search, through proximity technology (Page, 2021), you can invite him to join you at the sports field.
