Based on the findings of Module 2 students will write a 1-2-page review paper (not including citations) summarizing the available information about their gene and inferring its function.
What do we know about the function of homologs of your gene of interest based on previously published work? What was done?
Give a general description of the biological system your gene is associated with; for example: olfaction, vision, hearing, memory, mating, etc.
What kind of behavioral assay or phenotype measurements can be used to study this biological system?
Part 1 – List of 7-10 scientific papers that will be used to write review paper that cover the questions asked above. (2.5%)
Part 2 – Detailed bullet-point outlining what each paragraph will discuss, 1-2 sentences per bullet-point will suffice. (5%)
Part 3 – 1-2-page review paper containing a Works Cited page. (12.5%)
