Bill Baumbas and Ada Cody reviewed the Risk Register progress and were impressed with the quality and quantity of the uncertainties you and the LSDS-ASDG team managed to identify, categorize, and initially prioritize. However, as a group, they were concerned about having no substantiation for the prioritization of the identified threats and opportunities. At this time, they want first a qualitative assessment of the uncertainties your LSDS-ASDG team has identified and categorized. Bill and Ada believe a qualitative assessment of the risks is the first step toward substantiating a prioritization of the uncertainties. However, although Larry and Lucy have managed projects in the past, they have never gone through the process of qualitative risk analysis. From what you have informally explained to them about qualitative risk analysis, they believe value can be added from the effort, they just do not know how to do it. So, Bill asked you to prepare qualitative risk analysis training for Larry and Lucy as well as his other LSDS project managers. Rather than go off on your own, you once again turn to your colleagues for a discussion about how to approach this training for the LSDS project managers. Go to the classroom Discussion Board and discuss the inputs, tools, and techniques, and outputs of the Perform Qualitative Risk Analysis process that the LSDS project managers need to know about, and need to know how to do.
