For invertebrates, We will pool the data across tree species for the
inverts. In other words, we will have
one compilation of data for long-leaf pines and one for live oaks (2 spreadsheet
tabs). Then, you will calculate H and EH for each
species of tree by setting up the calculations in excel (2 more spreadsheet
tabs). Make sure all tabs are labeled. For birds, You will calculate H and EH for each area of
campus. Again, you will set your calculations up in an Excel and do the
calculations that way. This will result
in 4 spreadsheet tab. Label all tabs. Online Shannon index calculators may be useful to check your
work, but you can’t use them to do your calculations. Here is a video on doing

document which mimics a Results & Discussion section. You should describe your results, both
invertebrate and bird diversity (separately of course), and why you think these
results may have occurred. You can use literature
citations if you want, but it isn’t required.
If you want to use data tables or figures you may so long as they have
stand-alone titles and are referenced in text. I am going to upload the results later.
