Over the course of the paper, the student should
provide a clear argument that is carefully developed using specific references
and analysis of the course readings. To do this, select a small handful of texts and compose a careful comparison of the arguments. Rather than making broad sweeping claims, ground your paper in specific textual analysis. Make sure your
argument can be adequately defended over the space of the paper. Please take
the time to craft a paper that is well written, proofread, and contains proper citation formatting.
Taylor (2016, 16) writes that “[t]oday’s movement [for Black Lives] has similarities with the struggles of the 1960s but does not replicate them.” Write a paper, with a clear argument, that explores how the Black Lives Matter movement draws similarities, and possibility inspirations, from African anti-colonial struggles. Focus on Senghor 1964 to
explain and analyze the Black Lives Matter movement.
