Black Maternal Mortality
Have you ever wondered why many women are losing their lives when giving birth? It is not a common thing to discuss but it is most common in todays’ society, as technology advances and more doctors are taught how to deliver healthy pregnancies. Is it a problem? Yes, maternal mortality in the black community especially is still on the rise and has yet to decline. As time is changing and it is becoming a new era with new technology and advancements in the world, you would think more lives would be saved and more families could live a full and healthy life. Who is to blame for the lives that are lost? Do we blame the women or the health care professionals ? Some may blame the health care workers, many people can be blamed but you have to look at it from both sides of the fence. You can place blame on the women by saying they are not eating correctly or practicing the correct exercises when carrying their child.
