As explained in class, I want you to find and comment on nodes of connectivity between these stories. The connection can be between just two stories, and you can use a story as often as you want, but every one of these five stories must be utilized in your essay.
I want you to focus on and discuss the author’s craft – look for what she is trying to achieve with her openings and endings especially.
I want this to be personal and authentic. Do not try to sound like a professional book reviewer. You are an individual, so to every story make certain to comment on what thoughts you had as you read. These do not and should not be always positive. What edges of your mind did the story cause to itch? What uncomfortable thoughts occurred? You do not have to only respond to the literal details of the narrative; identify and comment on what thoughts the story made you consider.
This should be the best, most personal essay to date. Make me want to keep reading:)
