ANALYSIS INSTRUCTIONS
In providing this summary keep in mind that many of your classmates will not have watched this particular documentary and think of ways that would help them understand your point.
For your analysis section, you can follow the guidelines from the previous week listed below.
1) What is the overall message of the film?
2a) Choose a topic/theme you found to be important to the film’s message. Topics can include but are not limited to: gender, politics, religion, culture, inequality, etc. How did the filmmakers portray that topic? Give specific details.
2b) Do you agree with how they represented the topic? Why or why not? Anything else you’d like to add?

Film Analysis Rubric

Conceptually analyzes specific and compelling examples from the film. Clear discussion of message. Creative and important topic discussed with nuance. Impeccable grammar. Addresses all four part of the prompt.
IN-TEXT CITATION FORMATTING
Please note that you are responsible for figuring out the names and dates for any citations. For readings, just go to Google Scholar and input the title of the reading to determine the name and date.
You do not need to create a bibliography. However, you are required to provide in-text citations so we can see how you are utilizing class readings and lectures. As standard in publishing and academic writing, citing is mostly done by paraphrasing and verbatim quotes are used sparingly. So just one or two verbatim quotes max if you have a longer discussion. We want to read your unique voice. Show us that you can identify, define, and apply key terms paraphrasing your citations as much as possible.
