Reports are to be based on
listening to one complete symphony and one complete
concerto from the approved list on D2l
. The paper should be 1000 words or 3 full
pages in length. The papers should follow MLA format.
Your reports need to
include a summary and critique of the music and must include some information
about the music,
which can be found in your textbook or by googling a reputable
source (our library has some excellent databases).
Things you will include:
1.
Briefly describe the concert environment: appearance of the hall, performers,
& audience. (no more than 1 paragraph)
2.
Make general music observations, such as number and types of instruments
used, mannerisms of the performers and/or conductor, etc.
3.
Include specific musical observations: Date of the compositions, historical
period, and/or information about the composer(s).
