Briefly introduce yourself, area of practice and how you will use the concepts of reflection to critically evaluate a coaching. State how you will answer the assignment question, what your aim and objectives are. A good assignment begins by explaining to the reader what you are going to write about the topic area and how you are structuring the essay. You need to state which theories will be included (these will come from the LSM and teaching/learning sessions).It should include discussion of the theme of the coaching session /interaction and what reflective model you are using and why. The introduction provides a number of signposts for the reader to look out for and sets up an expectation of what can be expected. (100 words)

Choose one of your coaching session that you have taken place and write a brief
account of what happened (Approx.: 100 words)

Section 3: Two parts to this section –
-Feeling (what were you thinking or feeling?)
-Evaluation (what was effective and what did not go well about the experience?)
What actions you took, how you felt about this, what emotions your felt, what you feel are your strengths and weaknesses (Approx.: 400 words).Take care with the structure of the reflection and how you acknowledge your feelings, strengths and weakness’

Section 4: Two parts to this section –
Analysis (what sense can you make of the situation?) What else could you have done?
Link this in more depth to how you will improve and advance your coaching skills and the ongoing development of your staff going forward. Please use the process of critical analysis in relation to this section.
(Approx.: 700 words).

Section 5: Action Plan (if it arose again what would you do?)
Include in this section clear details of what you have learnt and briefly build on how
you have, or will advance your own practice or clinical area (Approx.: 200 words).

Section 6: Conclusion
In the conclusion make sure you restate your original question, aims or objectives. Summarise your main learning points from the reflection (Approx.: 100 words)

Section 7: Reference list
Make sure that you support your discussion with references. There is an expectation that you will read some of the Hong Kong papers, the text books (or part of these books) and also some journal articles. The wider your reading (self- directed), the better your understanding.

Assignment Part Two (Maximum 2,000 words)
Based on your experiences from your coach-mentoring session(s) and on the module more generally, identify and justify what you will need to do next to take your own development in coach-mentoring practice forward over the next 12 months.
Identify what challenges may arise (from within yourself and external sources) and how you would address these.
