Briefly summarizes the article in the student’s own words and the second paragraph describes how the Earth’s four systems (atmosphere, biosphere, geosphere, and hydrosphere) are impacted by the environmental change described in the article.

In this forum, students are responsible for selecting a news article from a reputable source (e.g. New York Times, Washington Post, NPR, National Geographic, etc.) that touches on a current event that focuses on how humans impact the natural environment (e.g. deforestation, oil spill, urban development, dam construction, etc.). The student will share their analysis with the rest of the class by writing two well-written paragraphs. The first paragraph briefly summarizes the article in the student’s own words and the second paragraph describes how the Earth’s four systems (atmosphere, biosphere, geosphere, and hydrosphere) are impacted by the environmental change described in the article.
Additionally, students must comment on at least one post authored by a classmate.
