In this assignment, you will be developing bubble and block diagrams for the final project. If you have not yet drawn the project floor plan to 1/4″ scale, you will need to for this assignment. You can do this using CAD or Revit or draw it by hand.
Note! The bubble and block diagrams for this assignment are to be drawn by hand.
1. Begin the process by diagramming critical adjacencies and relationships through hand drawn multiple bubble diagrams (ref: Module 4 pgs. 12-14), When you are satisfied that your bubble diagram meets the project’s programming constraints, you are ready to start the bock diagram process.
2. Place a piece of trace paper over the scaled floor plan for the project and follow the step-by-step process presented in this module to create multiple block diagrams until you have two that you feel are successful. Be sure to include design notes on your diagrams
3. Throughout the drawing process, consider the following:
Project program
Elements of design
Circulation
Egress
Acoustics
Circulation
Adjacencies
Exterior space / views
4. Post your two best block diagrams as jpeg files
5. In the text portion of your post, note the following:
Which diagram do you feel is the most successful and why?
How did you integrate the elements of design into your plan?
How were other concepts presented in the module integrated?
Are there any areas of the block diagram that you feel do not meet programmatic requirements?
