Budget are profoundly important public documents. Were these easy to locate? How much effort did it take to find these documents? In what ways does the ease of locating these documents relate to values of transparency and accountability?
In reviewing the budget, were the associated documents easy to read and understand? What specific characteristics made the document easy or difficult to understand? (e.g., formatting, discussion or explanations, accompanying presentations, etc.)
Budget are policy documents. What motivations might organizations have for publishing documents that are challenging to find, consume, or understand?
Thinking about your current place of employment (or one you’ve work or volunteered for in the past), how would you share budget documents with important constituencies in a manner that is in line with the mission of the organization?
