Bush claims that Iraq is the main threat to world peace, and although there are other countries with weapons of terror, Iraq is the only country we should really be worried about. He says the major difference between Iraq and other nations is that Iraq has a tyrant for a dictator who continues to brutally invade and disrupt neighboring countries and holds hostility towards the U.S. He noted that the former chief weapons inspector for the UN said “The fundamental problem with Iraq remains the nature of the regime, itself. Saddam Hussein is a homicidal dictator who is addicted to weapons of mass destruction.” Bush stated Iraq had already developed biological weapons that could kill millions. He also states that they are working with Afghan leaders to target Americans. Bush claims that Iraq is funding the enemies in the war on terror and that’s why they must be stopped. He claims that Iraq is isolated from the civilization, but also far too technologically advanced. Bush says that although Iraq has been a threat for a long time, we need to act now especially since 9/11 happened just a year before. Bush says they are just assuming the worst about Iraq. He also gave ultimatums for Iraq and said that there are other countries willing to step in to help the U.S. He says that Hussein is a student of Stalin. He claims that the U.S. does not want to harm the people of Iraq, in fact we are friends to them and only want the best for Iraq’s citizens and surrounding countries.
He claims that by going to war we will be helping the Iraqi people and their neighbors live in peace, happiness, and abundance.

On the contrary, Koehler says that the current administration is abusing their power and giving empty arguments for the pretext of war. He says the President doesn’t have any solid facts and is using tricks to convince us to go to war. He states Bush is using false dilemma as an argument to go to war, like war is the only valid option when it’s not. The Bush administration says that “you are with us or against us” regarding terrorism, while Koehler thinks that there are many countries that are against the idea of war while also against terrorism. Kohler believes that we don’t have to go to war in order to stop Iraq from developing weapons of mass destruction; all we must do is watch them closely. He also states that Bush is using the argument of ignorance and that Iraq cannot prove that they don’t have WMD, and it’s up to the UN and the US to prove that they don’t if they want to make such claims. Kohler further explains that Bush is using a slippery slope method of arguing, where he states that things will only get worse, as well as ad hominem, attacking the person or group rather than the issue, and fallacy of exclusion. He then notes that most of the terrorists from 9/11 were from our “allies” of Saudi Arabia, not Iraq. He says war is war is horrible necessity sometimes, but this is not one of those times.
Bush is undoubtedly for the war in Iraq while Koehler is vehemently against it. Bush is confident in his resources and administration while Koehler doubts their choices for this country.
