Communications Plan – Due Module 2

Purpose of
the Course Project: Solving a business problem for someone who is receptive to
your recommendations is an excellent way to improve your professional
effectiveness and get ahead. Learning how to identify problems and propose
solutions will benefit you now and in the future as you want to convey your
great ideas.

Watch this video for an introduction to the project.

Part
1 of 4: The Project Proposal is your plan of what you propose to do for your Course
Project.

Directions
for Part 1:
1.
Problem Selection
Choose a local business problem for which
you can recommend solutions. The business problem should relate to your career
path or interests if possible(INFORMATION SERCURITY/TECHNOLOGY M
ANAGEMENT). Select a company or service organization that could use your
help, including your own workplace. Search for inefficiencies, complaints,
competitive threats, opportunities. How can you make a difference?

2.
Communications Plan
Use the Project Proposal
Template for this assignment. It includes a table(Sattached form)..

Who
should you include in your communications plan?
Decision maker/s: to gain project approval, present final
report, anything else you feel is relevant. Try to take no more than 10
minutes of their time in any one contact (unless they agree to more time).

People with information: to gather information about the problem
and/or solution, receive feedback as you work on the project, anything else
you feel is relevant

People other than decision makers who will
receive your report or attend your presentation: to influence a broader audience

What
are the needs and interests of each of your communications contacts?
Determine the needs and interests of each
contact (audience). What will be important to these receivers, and how will you
ensure that your report addresses these needs? (review section 2.4 and 3.1 of
your Shwom text). This will guide you in how to frame your approach with them.
Stick to your purpose when you contact them.

3.
Copy and paste your work into the discussion board.
