an approved topic proposal
an introduction stating a clear thesis
supporting paragraphs (with appropriate headings) as the body of the paper in a logical progression of thought
conclusion in support of the stated thesis
10-15 pages with 12-point font (Times New Roman or Arial)
Double-spacing for the entire body of the paper (the only exception would be block quotes of 40 words or more)
an additional page of works cited, properly noted (Bibliography/Reference Page)
citations within the body of the paper for every piece of information that isn’t common knowledge – APA Style
college-level writing with correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, and flow
***Failure to meet any one of these Requirements may result in a zero on your Final Paper grade.
Project Evaluation Criteria
Papers will be evaluated based on the following:
CONTENT
Does it have a clear thesis or main point to which everything else relates?
Does the paper treat the topic comprehensively, in-depth, and with insight?
Are there enough relevant, varied, and scholarly primary and secondary sources used well in the paper?
ORGANIZATION
Is the organization clear, both in the paper as a whole and within each paragraph?
Have unnecessary details and redundancies been eliminated?
STYLE AND MECHANICS
Are there misspelled words?
Are the sentences properly structured?
Is the tone scholarly or too colloquial?
Is the punctuation correct?
Are works cited correctly and accurately within the paper?
