A strong web presence is crucial in today’s business environment. In this project, student teams will design and develop a prototype website/mobile app for a business to help it grow and increase its competitive edge. Think of a business, real or not. (if it is a real business, you must obtain permission if you are to publish your website).
Students will first need to understand the company’s external and internal business environments, along with key business processes, and then think how their website would help the business to achieve its goals. Students will need to brainstorm ideas as a group in order to identify what appropriate features and functions are required for the website and to decide how they would help the business.
Deliverables include a written report (no more than 2,000 words), presentation slides (up to 10 slides, no more than 15 minutes), and peer evaluation. The grading criteria of the written report will be relevancy, accuracy, completeness, comprehensiveness, as well as the structure and organization of the report. The following should be included in the report:
Business environment (e.g., industry environment, company strategy, business processes, etc.)
Website overview (e.g., processes, features, and functions)
strengths and weaknesses of the website, and the implications of the website to the business
