telecom giant AT&T announced an agreement to merge its content unit WarnerMedia
entertainment with Discovery (AT&T, 2021). Under the agreement, Warner is being spun off
from AT&T and is combined with Discovery, creating a new business called “Warner Bros.
Discovery”. Accordingly, Discovery grows the third-quarter revenue 23% compared to the prior
year quarter (Discovery, Inc., 2021).
