Hashtag South Africa – leaders and transformers
Hashtag South Africa has a unique
mission statement and the organisation’s goal is to showcase South Africa
across the world using social media and other digital related services to
promote goods and services to local and international markets.
By focusing on social media, cloud
computing, and fibre optic connectivity, #South Africa is able to leverage
algorithms to identify which special media platforms are ideal for South
African-based industries. In addition, Hashtag South Africa has an online
social radio station to raise awareness of South Africa to the world. It uses
its social media training academy to develop skills in social media in
communities. #South Africa gives back while it moves forward.
The founder and Managing Director,
Conrad David, was recognised in 2016 as one of the 100 most influential people
in science and technology for his work at Hashtag South Africa. Conrad’s
purpose for establishing Hashtag South Africa is to change the perception of
South Africa as an online economic powerhouse on the African continent. He
believes that it will require the collective digital community of South Africa
to stand up and make a difference.
