Case 2.11: Penn State Framing Ethical Issues
Procedure: Please follow these steps:
Read the assigned case thoroughly
Update the case with current research (10 sources minimum).
Identify and analyze the ethical issues posed by the case.
Evaluate the company’s response to the situation described in the case.
Make your recommendations as to the proper ethical response.
Write your case study analysis, using the APA format. Your case study should be a minimum of 10 pages in length, plus a title page and the bibliography. Please assume that you are writing the case study for managers. Please submit a copy of your case study on Canvas for feedback and grading.
Your completed case study analysis should have the following required sections and headings:
A Summary and Research Update of the Case (4 pages, 25% of your grade)
Writing Prompt: What are the essential facts of the case and what has happened since the case was written?
Your Analysis of the Ethical Issues Involved (2 pages, 25% of your grade)
Writing Prompt: What are the ethical issues posed by the case?
Your Evaluation of the Company’s Response (2 page, 25% of your grade)
Writing Prompt: How do you think that the company responded to the ethical issues posed by the case?
Your Recommendations for all Stakeholders (2 pages, 25% of your grade)
Writing Prompt: What do you recommend that the company, the employees, the consumers, the stockholders and the government do about the ethical issues posed in this case? Please write this section as memorandums to managers/leaders.
