Purpose

This assignment will help you to develop the skills and strategies necessary to successfully request an informational interview. You can download a PDF copy of the Unit Assignment if that is easier for you.
Task
Review each of the following Learning Resources to prepare for this assignment:
Communication Barriers (Article)
Communication Barriers (Book Excerpt)
Informational Interviews
How to Ask for an Informational Interview (and Get a “Yes”)
How to Create an Informational Interview Email

This assignment has two parts:

My major is Business Administration and I would like to start a party planning business in the future.

Use the skills you have already practiced in this Unit to compose a professional email requesting an informational interview. (150-200 words)
Please identify someone with whom you would like to be in contact with for professional reasons or imagine addressing your email to someone whose information you found on a career website or a company directory. In the latter case, that person could, for example, be somebody with similar qualifications to yours but holding a more advanced position than you in an organization or company in which you are interested.
Your submission should include a subject line, the main body of your email, and an appropriate sign off with contact information. Remember that your email should not be too short. It should not leave unanswered questions about who you are and why you are getting in touch. Equally, it must not be so long and detailed that your recipient will not read it!
Write a paragraph explaining the choices you made to produce the most appropriate email for your individual circumstances. (150-200 words)
Please use the following questions to guide you as you explain the decisions you made for this professional email. Feel free to include anything else you believe is necessary in understanding the reasoning behind your choices.
Did you emphasize your professional experience more than your educational background or vice versa?

Did you share anything else about yourself that might be relevant (volunteer work, hobbies, acquaintances), or did you limit yourself to sharing workplace and/or school information?
Did you explain in detail why you are interested in being in touch with the email’s recipient, or did you keep that part short?
Did you list some of your specific professional goals? If not, why?
Did you suggest meeting in person (if that is an option), or did you choose to keep things more formal and talk over the phone or virtually?

Evidence-Based Practice and the Quadruple Ai

Healthcare organizations continually seek to optimize healthcare performance. For years, this approach was a three-pronged one known as the Triple Aim, with efforts focused on improved population health, enhanced patient experience, and lower healthcare costs.
More recently, this approach has evolved to a Quadruple Aim by including a focus on improving the work life of healthcare providers. Each of these measures are impacted by decisions made at the organizational level, and organizations have increasingly turned to EBP to inform and justify these decisions.

What are some specific areas of a client’s life that a social worker can investigate to assess his or her strengths? What are some questions you might ask, or observations you might make toward that end?

1. Social Workers tend to emphasize the importance of the worker-client relationship in clinical practice, but not all practice theories give this factor equal emphasis. What elements of a helping relationship, if any, do you think are universally important.
According to Walsh (2015), ” Critical thinking can be defined as thinking that is purposeful, reasonable, goal-directed, and evaluative of its outcomes” (p 10). Critical thinking is necessary in the relationship between the social worker and the client.

When issues develop with the client, no matter the type, the social worker must be able to resolve the issue with the clients best interest at hand. The social worker sometimes have to make tough decisions that require being able to think outside of the box. Social workers must be flexible and persistent when solutions are not available as well as self-correct when necessary (Walsh, 2015).

What are some specific areas of a client’s life that a social worker can investigate to assess his or her strengths? What are some questions you might ask, or observations you might make toward that end?

According to Walsh (2015), “Spirituality in direct Practice has many definitions, but can be generally understood as a person’s search for, and adherence to, meanings, purposes, and commitments that lie outside of the self” (p. 28).Spiritual issues are not appropriate for each client neither is it appropriate for every situation.”Spiritual issues should be included as part of a multi-dimensional assessment with all clients, as it is always possible that a person’s present problems and needs may contribute to or result from struggles with life concerns according to Walsh” (p.30). As a social worker, depending on the client, circumstance, and client/social worker relationship would

Question: In R (Miller) v Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union [2017] UKSC 5,at [146], the Supreme Court stated that,Judges … are neither the parents nor the guardians of [constitutional]conventions; they are merely observers. As such, they can recognisethe operation of a political convention in the context of deciding alegal question … but they cannot give legal rulings on its operation orscope, because those matters are determined within the politicalworld.

Given how important constitutional conventions are to the operation of the UK constitution, the Supreme Court’s approach raises the question of how conventions are binding, and whether at least some should be replaced by legal rules, so that they can be enforced by the courts.
