The goal of Assignment 3 is to allow you to familiarize yourself, in some depth, with relevant literature in order to generate a research question and an approach to researching an issue, area, or problem you have elected to focus on. Your Research Proposal (Assignment 4) should be designed to investigate one of the major topics presented in this course that is of particular interest to you. This assignment (Assignment 3) will provide the groundwork for Assignment 4.
Before you begin your work on Assignment 3, review the instructions for Assignment 4.
There are two related parts to Assignment 3. Part 1 asks you to clearly articulate a research question that you will use to inform your work in Assignment 4. Part 2 of this assignment asks you to develop summaries of four (4) research articles you have isolated and reviewed to inform your research question. These same research articles will also be used to inform your work in Assignment 4. Note that, in total, you will be asked to refer to at least eight (8) journal articles when you are working on Assignment 4; half will come from your work in this assignment and the remaining four will be added when you work on Assignment 4.
Part 1: Research Question
Derive your research question from your interests, your understanding of the course materials, and your preliminary review of relevant literature on the topic you will be investigating. Your research question should be one that clearly relates to a topic that is important in the study of the psychology of women. It should also be a question that could realistically and ethically be explored and answered through a research project.
Part 2: Article Summaries
For this part of the assignment, you will need to search for, review, and develop summaries of four (4) journal articles. Journal articles should be drawn from AU’s online journal databases.
For each article you have selected, prepare a separate summary. Each summary should include the following information in this order:
Provide a full and correct reference, using APA style at the beginning of each summary.
Immediately following, in two or three sentences, identify the main thesis statement (i.e., the primary focus or main argument) of the article.
Once you have identified the main focus or argument of the paper, outline three or four major points made by the author(s) to support his/her/their thesis statement.
Summarize, in one or two sentences, the conclusions drawn by the author(s) of the article.
Finally, in one or two sentences, indicate the relevance of the article you have summarized to the topic and research question that you plan to explore more fully in Assignment 4.
In developing your summaries, do not use direct quotations. Your job is to summarize and synthesize the materials from each article. Each summary—including the full reference for the article—should not exceed one word-processed page (i.e., approximately 250 words, double-spaced).

1. What are some of the images you notice in the music video? What do you think the producer intended those images to mean–aka, what is the dominant reading of these images?
2. What is the message of the song? In what ways does the video attempt to enhance that message?
3. What is the problem with the video, according to the article “Taylor Swift Is Dreaming of a Very White Africa?” To what extent do you agree with their points?
4. How does media create meaning, according to Hall’s theory? What meaning is being fixed to the African continent through the images in this video? Why is this a problem?
5. What does Hall mean when he says images are the most prevalent sign in modern culture? Do you agree?

In 1954, Abraham Maslow created a model that has been used to identify the importance of satisfying needs in human development and growth. The National Organization for Human Services (NOHS) annual conference in your region (WNWOHS) is coming up soon and you are determined to co-present with a faculty member in your program. The faculty member agrees! Now it is time to write up the proposal to submit to WNWOHS. Address your topic, that summarizes Maslow’s theory and how it can be used to assist other human service professionals for optimal service delivery.
Your presentation should address the following:
Who was Abraham Maslow? Describe briefly.
What was his major contribution to the field of psychology?
How can Maslow’s theory be used to assist human service professionals in providing care, such as abused and neglected children, natural disaster survivors, and homeless persons, for example.
Explain why you find Maslow’s theory to be important so to the human services when working with clients.

Identify the problems occurring in the scenario. Hint: They are not limited to Warrant’s behavior.
Describe a recommend action plan, improvement plan, or remedial training that is based on behavior-related work performance.
Explain strategies the agency should use to avoid problems like Warrant’s from persisting.

Include the name of the student who created the slide and provided the research at the top left corner of the speaker notes.

Format the team presentation consistent with APA guidelines. Each member of the group must develop and submit to the team at least one PowerPoint slide with research. Be sure the student who produced the slide and research is identified in the slide speaker notes (see PowerPoint example).

Each group member must provide to the team at least one paragraph of research with a in-text citation and APA reference. Using OneDrive or SharePoint is fine for working on your group assignment as long as everyone on the team agrees; however, be sure your work is submitted to the group chat room as an attachment. (1) So other group members can review and respond to your research; (2) Because it is one of the checklist items when the US Department of Education reviews the group assignments to ensure each group member is providing research as identified in the group assignment instructions.

Provide examples to support your points in the presentation.

Presentation should include a title slide, introduction slide, research slides, conclusion slide, and a reference slide. (The Title Slide and Reference Slide do NOT count towards the slide count requirement.) A 12 – 15 slide PowerPoint Presentation should average between 1,000 – 1,300 words of research. See Rubric.

List major points on the slides using bullet points which are should be limited to approximately five lines; approximately five words per bulleted item. Add a paragraph (approximately 100 words) to the speaker notes to support the bullet points with a citation to give credit to the source. Speaker notes are not required on the Title or Reference Slide.
Include videos, audio, photos, diagrams, or graphs as appropriate.

Include at least four peer-reviewed references from the University Library.

Provide examples to support your points in the presentation.

Discuss and analyze your own investment management process (IMP) and develop your own investment policy statement (IPS) with regard to wealth creation and retirement planning. Discuss investment objectives and constraints in the development of your IPS. Comprehensively integrate the topics learned throughout the course.

You should cover the material points in tables 22.1, 22.2, and 22.3 on page 690 in the text in Chapter 22. Each point should be focused on the construction of your own strategies for retirement/estate-planning portfolio endeavors. Please review the CFA Institute’s Investment Management Process (Figure 22.1) on page 689 at the beginning of the chapter 22 material.
Table 22.1 addresses the “Components of the Investment Management Process”, to include the topics of planning, execution of the portfolio construction and revisions, and the feedback process.

Table 22.2 addresses the “Components of the Investment Policy Statement (IPS)”. Note that the nine points should be addressed in your presentation. Remember that you are the client. This is an applied future prescriptive exercise assignment
Table 22.3 addresses the “Determination of Portfolio Policies”, to include the objectives and the constraints.

Companies like Google, Apple, Microsoft, Twitter, Amazon, and Facebook offer up free services to customers all across the globe. In light of recent events, do you think it right for the Federal Government to request backdoor access to encrypted devices or unwarranted access to personal communications on these (and like) services? How would grant access impact their business?
Your paper will be 5–6 full pages and must be supported by a minimum of 5 reputable sources and accompanying citations in APA format and must be submitted via Safe Assign by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Monday of the assigned module/week. Please note that your abstract, title page, and bibliography are not counted as pages.

Write a summary of the sciences involved in the Ring of Fire. This should be a general summary of the sciences involved and should not be filled with jargon and complicated research studies (the audience is a high school student).
Here are some ideas for paragraphs:
– Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science (equations for measuring volcanic explosivity index, other modelling equations, etc.)
– Physics and Chemistry
– Biology
– Geology, Volcanology, Oceanography
– Earth and environmental science
If you choose to cover the topics below, it should not be more than 700 words
– Political Science (Insurance/payments for those affected by volcanoes; see Indonesia)
– Any psychology, sociology, philosophy

Note: You do not have to cover every single science mentioned above, they are just suggestions but most of the writing should be on natural sciences.
