(also found in Module 1) and choose a sustainable development goal (SDG) of your choice! Each week you will update your blog regarding your chosen SDG (You will create a NEW Blog, each titled Blog 1, Blog 2, etc.). For the FIRST WEEK ONLY, you will also introduce your SDG before investigating your first nation. Each week, the student will provide background information from a country within the UN on how it is addressing the goal they chose (you keep the same goal throughout the project, only changing the country you are visiting each week) by answering the following questions:
How will the SDGs be implemented?
How will the SDGs be monitored?
How much will the implementation of this new sustainable development agenda cost?
How does climate change relate to sustainable development?
Is this an issue for the country?
What resources does this country have to reach this goal?
Is this currently being addressed by the country?

Provide a summary of the demographic characteristics of the students at your site (e.g. race, socio-economic status, first generation status). How do you feel these characteristics affect student achievement? Do you perceive a mismatch between your own educational experience and your students’ educational experience? If so, how do you address this mismatch and understand your students’ unique needs? Respond to at least 3 classmates’ posts.

Where do you get your news? How does this differ from your friends, parents, or older people you know? Do differences in news sources affect the political beliefs of these people? Do you see strong differences of opinion in social media, or do you tend not to see political statements that run counter to your political beliefs? Find a recent American news story, and look at how two different news sources cover it (for example, a news story about Covid coverage by MSNBC versus Fox News). Is there a difference in how it is being covered? Analyze the two news sources by going to https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/ and report the bias (e.g. New York Times would be left-center bias, publishing factual information that use loaded words that favor liberal causes but overall a high rating on factual reporting).

In order to discuss these issues, I want you to think about the issues and consider with whom you agree and whom you do not. Explain your thoughts and feelings on each of the given issues. In order to receive full credit on these postings, you want to make sure you address BOTH sides of the issues by citing examples the authors present and then tie in your own views and thoughts. You can also consider how the topics relate to a larger picture? What is the effect on society as a whole? Or you can also share whether or not you believe the author credible in the way he or she states the argument and if not, why? Does the author make a valid point? Does he seem reliable, arrogant, unreasonable, insightful, etc? And how does all of this change (or not change) your feelings about the issue? Remember, simply posting your opinion on the topic will not get you full credit!
