Two physicians, Dr. S. and Dr. V., leased a nuclear camera so they would no longer have to refer their patients to the local hospital for nuclear imaging. Faced with the prospect of losing over a third of its $2,274,094 in annual gross nuclear medicine revenues, the hospital responded by threatening to revoke the doctors admitting privileges. Lengthy negotiations ensued, at the end of which the hospital agreed to sublease the camera from the two physicians; the camera remained at the physicians offices but other physicians with privileges at the hospital could use it. Four other local physicians who provided the same or similar services to patients as Dr. S. and Dr. V. brought a qui tam action alleging that the sublease violated the Anti-Kickback and Stark Acts and that the defendants falsely certified compliance with those laws in connection with claims submitted to Medicare in violation of the False Claims Act.

Dana Arnold uses four examples to show how art historians can use pieces of art to better understand aspects of human culture and human experience. The four pieces of art are:

Your first task is to choose one of these pieces of art and to explain Arnold’s analysis of it. This task will require level one and level two thinking. Separate those two kinds of thinking in your post.
In one section, create a list (bullet points are fine) of information drawn from the text that you think will be useful in explaining Arnold’s discussion. Your list may include quotations and paraphrases.

Your paper must have 1 margins on all sides and be double spaced using a serif font (Times New Roman, Cambria, Palatino, etc.) in 12-point type.
Your paper must be written in Standard English using full sentences.
Use paragraphs to separate ideas. Each topic should have its own paragraph (i.e., word processing, spreadsheet, etc.). The terms should be in bold, followed by your definition.
You may not use any quotations. All information must be paraphrased or summarized in your own words.
Each paragraph must include at least one citation showing where your information was found. You may use the same source for more than one topic, but each topic must identify the source(s) used. APA citations and references are acceptable but not required. Review the APA formatting and citation style found in the Writing Center.
Citations must include the full URL. (For instance http://www.computerhope.com/jargon/h/harddriv.htm. Top-level sites such as http://www.computerhope.com/ are not acceptable). Books must include the full title, author, year of publication, and page number.
Plagiarism

Unless I indicate otherwise, I take off one point for each error that I see and that includes grammar, punctuation, spelling, errors in spacing and incorrect margins. I also do not want to see any quotes or quotations in any paper that is turned in to me. I take off two points for each quote that I see in a paper. Also, plagiarism will not be tolerated. Anyone committing this offense will be given an F in their paper. Any paper that you turn in to me must be written entirely in your own words.
