This assignment is in two parts.

First, answering the
following question give a 3-4 page literature review of the readings from Week
4. This week you will be answering the following question What role do the States play in the
creation of legislation? Instructions on how to complete a literature
review are here. While
completing this assignment I would like you to think more thoroughly about the
following points and ensure to answer them throughout your writing assignment.
Please pay particular attention to

powers do state legislatures have?
2)
What
role do state legislatures play in the overall momentum of legislation?
3)
What role does federalism play in the
legislation you have chosen to research?

The second component of this
assignment will be your own original research. Using the website openstates.org
search for either your bill specifically or use search terms that are related
to your bill (please let me know what search terms you used). Also note there is a video with a full demo on how
to compile this research and how to do this assignment on eCampus. After you
have searched your bill please provide what you can of the following
information.

1)
Choose a
state (any state you want) and a piece of legislation that deals with the topic
you have chosen (noting that some wiggle room will be necessary as you may have
chosen a bill only the Federal government can deal with). Explain the bill and
how it relates to your research.
2)
If you
can find information on who proposed the bill and why they did please note the
sponsors, co-sponsors, etc- identify if it was partisan or bi-partisan, how
many sponsors/co-sponsors. Local newspapers are going to be a great place for
this.
Explain how it is either similar or dissimilar
to the federal stance on the legislation by researching and relaying the
pertinent information from the state legislation vs the federal legislation. Also
note it may be completely different as states attempt to challenge federal
legislation often times throughout legislation.

Instructions

Each research paper should be a minimum of 6 to 8 pages.

The vast difference in page count is because some countries and/or crime/topics are quite easy to study and some countries and/or crime/topics have very limited information.

In some instances, there will be a plethora of information and you must use skilled writing to maintain proper page count.

Please keep in mind that this is doctoral level analysis and writing you are to take the hard-earned road the road less travelled the scholarly road in forming your paper.

The paper must use current APA style, and the page count does not include the title page, abstract, reference section, or any extra material.

The minimum elements of the paper are listed below.

You must use a minimum of 8 recent (some countries/crimes/topics may have more recent research articles than others), relevant, and academic (peer review journals preferred and professional journals allowed if used judiciously) sources, at least 2 sources being the Holy Bible, and one recent (some countries/crime/topics have more recent than others) news article. Books may be used but are considered additional: sources beyond the stated minimums. You may use .gov sources as your recent, relevant, and academic sources if the writing is academic in nature (authored works). You may also use United Nations and Whitehouse.gov documents as academic documents.

Again, this paper must reflect graduate level research and writing style. If you need to go over the maximum page count you must obtain professor permission in advance! Please reference the Research Paper Rubric when creating your research paper.

These are minimum guidelines you may expand the topics covered in your papers.

Introduction

Organizational data, such as readmission rates, hospital-acquired infections, falls, medication errors, staff satisfaction, serious safety events, and patient experience can be used to prioritize time, resources, and finances. Health care organizations and government agencies use benchmark data to compare the quality of organizational services and report the status of patient safety. Professional nurses are key to comprehensive data collection, reporting, and monitoring of metrics to improve quality and patient safety.

Preparation
