For the Module 3 SLP you will be applying the concepts you learned in the background materials regarding conflict and negotiation to a situation from your own personal experiences. Carefully review the background materials regarding types of conflict, causes of conflict, negotiation stages, and conflict management styles. It is important to first understand these comments from the background readings before starting this assignment.
Once you have thoroughly reviewed the background materials, think of a situation in the workplace where a conflict erupted and management had to intervene and some type of negotiation was involved. Then write a three page paper addressing the following four questions, and make sure to cite at least one of the required background readings for each of your four answers :
1. Was this conflict functional or dysfunctional?
2. What was the cause of the conflict? Use the terms from the background materials in your answerfor example, was the conflict a result of interpersonal issues, a specific task involved, due to inter-organizational issues, etc.
3. Of the five approaches to conflict management outlined in Shearouse (2011) or Bauer and Erdogan (2011), which approach most closely describes the approach used by management to resolve this conflict?
4. Did the negotiations involve integrative or distributive bargaining? What stages of negotiation did management go through, and did these stages match the five stages discussed in Bauer and Erdogan (2011)?

It should consist of a 2- or 3-sentence introduction, a body, and a 2- or 3-sentence conclusion and use Trident University Internationals cover page. The reference list page must be in APA format.

When American Airlines wanted to advertise its new leather first-class seats in the Mexican market, the Fly in Leather campaign literally translated to vuela en cuero Fly naked in Spanish. -International Traveler Magazine
Instructions
“”Those who marketed the Fly in Leather campaign did not bother to learn about the people, their language, or their culture in the countries where they would launch their campaign. Not only did American Airlines suffer financially, but also their obvious lack of researching the Mexican language damaged their reputation and trust the key elements of building lasting relationships in a multicultural enterprise.
What American Airlines leaders did not take into consideration is that the aviation industry is not unique to one culture or one language. It is an industry that spans the globe and serves people from around the world. Throughout time, the aviation industry has grown rapidly and so has the aviation workforce and customers.
From your chapter readings on high- and low-context cultures and additional resources in 2.1 Readings & Presentation, answer the questions below:
1.Is the Mexican culture a high- or low-context culture? Why is this important regarding the mistake made by American Airline’s marketing campaign?
2.What could American Airlines have learned about the communication consequences of high- and low-context cultures?
3.Table 1, page 9, of Ken Buttons (2008) research, The Impacts of Globalisation on International Air Transport Activity lists American Airlines as one of ten large airlines transporting passengers around the world.
Why is it important for American Airline leaders and employees to understand the cultural value of high- and low-context cultures?

Describe the different approaches of the subgroups and how you imagine an unproductive dynamic could undermine progress.
Directions (see attachments)
Read an article from current news sources about an issue that affects at-risk populations. You may also watch videos on the subject.
Imagine that you are a social worker employed by a nonprofit community organization whose mission is to address the issue at hand. You have formed a task group for a community project, and there is conflict within the group. Natural leaders in the community have formed subgroups around different approaches to the project.
Summarize the current issue, how it is related to systemic oppression, and how you imagine it is affecting the community you are tasked to help.
Describe the different approaches of the subgroups and how you imagine an unproductive dynamic could undermine progress.
Explain how you will help the task group move from storming to performing. Be sure to use concepts from the Action-Social Model and from Social Thinking. Also, use Motivational Interviewing Spirit and Methods, such as OARS. Be aware that in your leadership role, you do not want to impose solutions or undermine capacity building, nor suppress the leadership potential of task group members.

Students may compare and contrast the brain for two different ages; for example, at two years of age and at nine years of age
Students may summarize abilities and/or possible effects of age for one particular age; for example, a 45-year old man or a 96-year old woman.
Conduct research to identify what brain functioning looks like for the ages you’ve selected. It is recommended that you conduct research through our Online Library (Link will open in new tab.) or use a scholarly internet search. Wikipedia is not allowed and you will need to include at least two different sources; do not rely on the same website for all your information.
