I expect that all papers will be edited/proofread and that sources will be cited correctly (including in-text citations). If you have questions about how to appropriately cite sources, see the ASA Style Guide located in the Introduction Module.

As you write your essays, consider the following: The synopsis should demonstrate an understanding of the main argument/contribution of the reading and should connect the reading to broader course issues. How does the book advance your sociological thinking? How does the book challenge your assumptions?

Description of Counselling/Psychotherapy Practice

I am applying for a professional accreditation as a counsellor in the UK and I need to write an essay describing how I practice. The essay has to be about 5500 words (max 6000) and there are clear guidelines what needs to be covered. Personally, I do have the knowledge and ideas what I’d like to write, however my writing skills are not great, especially when there isn’t much time. So I am prepared to work closely with the writer and either talk in person or supply recordings of what has to be written.

Here are the guidelines that were supplied by the accreditation body:

Knowledge and understanding
• Describe how you work with clients with reference to the theory / theories that
underpin your practice
• Describe how your understanding of theory has been influenced by your experience
of client work
(Maximum word count = 1200 words)

Practice & Supervision
• Provide case material to demonstrate:
• How your practice is consistent with your knowledge and understanding of theory
• How your practice demonstrates your awareness of issues of difference and diversity
• How you make use of the NCS Code of Ethical Practice.
• Describe the awareness you have gained through reflection in and on supervision
• Show how you apply that awareness in your practice
(Maximum word count = 3,000)

Self-awareness
• Describe an experience or an activity which has contributed to your own self-awareness
• Provide a reason(s) for choosing the experience or activity
• Show how you use this self-awareness in your practice
(Maximum word count = 900 words)

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
• Describe one CPD activity that you have undertaken in the 12 months
• Explain why you chose this activity and how it has influenced your practice
(Maximum word count = 900 words)

Hope the above is clear; otherwise, please contact me if there are any questions.
Thank you.

Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability (CIA): the foundations of information security

Confidentiality, integrity, and availability, or the CIA triad of security, is introduced in this session. These three dimensions of security may often conflict. Confidentiality and integrity often limit availability. So, a system should provide only what is truly needed. This means that a security expert has to carefully analyze what is more important among these three dimensions of security in a system or application.

Use this forum to provide three examples and justification:

Where the confidentiality of a system is more important than the integrity or availability of that system.
Where the integrity of a system is more important than the confidentiality or availability of that system.
Where the availability of a system is more important than the confidentiality or integrity of that system.
For example, you might say availability is more important than integrity and confidentiality in a cell telephone system since one must be able to reach their loved ones in an emergency. Someone else might argue confidentiality/privacy is more important in such a system. But each person needs to support their position by citing points from their research.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE: Every post (New Thread or Reply) must be supported by relevant information. Prove the point you are making by a) citing external research, b) citing readings from the class content, or c) providing examples or personal experiences that are relevant and support your position on the topic. It is always better to begin your reflection on the topic by doing some research/reading, either a) or b) or both, before considering personal experience. This research, reflection and subsequent writing is an essential part of the learning process, framing your personal experience against and alongside more general theories, concepts and writing on the topic. Grading of your participation will be according to the table outlined in the Grading Policy/Rubric for Class Participation (Weeks 1 – 8)” You can see the rubric by clicking on Discussions in the top nav bar, then scrolling down to the Weekly Discussions area.Confidentiality, integrity, and availability, or the CIA triad of security, is introduced in this session. SARS epidemic

In this week’s readings we have covered broader socio-economic and political changes brought about by the SARS epidemic in the early 2000s and COVID-19s in the 2020s. Your job for this paper is to select ONE key similarity and ONE key difference in how governments across the world, including China and the U.S., handled these contagious diseases. You will need to address how ordinancies and policies implementing to control contagion may have impacted economies and social behavior (e.g., ‘social scarring’) at the macro- and micro-geographic levels.
Remember to evaluate your statements critically and support them with evidence, always citing your sources. The incorporation of extra personal reflections and/or personal examples is welcome (but it cannot substitute the due readings).
Double-space text with Times New Roman font size 12.
Note: This is how should you format your paper:
Give a title to your paper (i.e. “Week One Paper”; “Understanding Global Health…”; ext.)
Length: 2-page long, not including List of References, which you need to add at the end (see syllabus for more details).

Women Activists in the Twentieth Century

Technical requirements: The length of the paper will be 7-10 pages (1,750 – 2,500 words), including footnotes. Pages must be numbered and double-spaced, with 12-point font. A front cover sheet must give the title of your essay, your name, net ID, and include the MSU Honor Code. You will need a bibliography page at the end. Neither the bibliography page nor the title page will count towards the page length.

Sources: You may use all three of the books assigned for the course, and, at minimum, two other books OR scholarly articles. For articles, you need to go to jstor.orgLinks to an external site., an online repository accessible through your library account.

Quotations:
Effective quotations will add weight to your statements. Don’t use them as filler. One or two per page and no more than two lines in length will work better. You don’t want someone else’s words dominating your paper. When you use a quote, you should explain why it important to your paper.

A few quotes can really help your essay, but they should be short and well-chosen. Use partial quotes if needed. You also need to either set up the quote or explain its significant afterwards.

Example: Slavery may have unconsciously influenced republicanism since, “Virginians may have had a special appreciation of the freedom dear to republicans, because they saw every day what life without it could be like.”
Or: “Virginians may have had a special appreciation of the freedom dear to republicans, because they saw every day what life without it
could be like.” While this is difficult to prove, it could offer some explanation of why a slave-owning society strongly promoted democracy.
Either method gives the quote context. Random quotes that are not set up or which lack explanation sound meaningless.

Example: Thomas Jefferson, a slave-owner, said:“Freedom is wonderful, and it is a gift from God.”

What does this mean, and why was this quote used? Was the intention to point out Jefferson’s inconsistency as a lover of freedom while also being a slave owner? Or what it to suggest that Jefferson believed that God chose a person’s place in life, thus slavery should not be
questioned? We have no idea since the specific purpose of the quote was not clarified. When you quote something in this research paper, you need a footnote (Chicago Manual of Style). Go online for instructions if you don’t have the style book. Here’s an example: “I like pizza!”1

DO NOT cut and paste from the internet. Using Wikipedia, online book reviews, and other sources, and then changing a few words won’t work. If Ouriginal flags your paper, you risk, at minimum, a failure grade on the assignment and, possibly, a grade of “XF” in the course.
Do not use personal pronouns such as “I” and “we.”
