The Importance of Your Practice Issue

Provide a summary of your introduction section. Include your inquiry (PICOT) question that will provide direction for your work. Explain your approach to the problem and how your approach will address the problem. Respond to at least two of your classmates.

-Remember your introduction is your Capstone Focus.
-What DNP Essential does it reflect (it should reflect at least one)
-What is the prevalence of the issue you are presenting?
-How is your topic/issue defined?
-Are there barriers which contribute to your topic?

PICOT…..
Remember your PICOT question drives your literature search (this includes articles you are collecting each week currently). Keep In mind you must be looking for the majority of your literature from USA original studies from peer reviewed journals. So far so good…..but now become more particular in the same way you are narrowing your topic. Remember the past 5 years for your literature choices, but older if they are a “classic” study. Remember to keep your inclusion and exclusion criteria for your project in your thoughts….this includes “sifting” through the 20 or so studies/literature you find.

Take the information from the past few weeks, narrow your focus, and address the directives for this week.

7-3 Final Project Submission: Campaign Plan Presentation 445

For this submission, you will describe strategic messaging for a campaign on multiple digital platforms with appropriate multimedia elements. Use images, and video links as something to refer to. Be creative.
Look beyond just the content and consider the actual look and feel of the proposal.
Each Paragraph is the prototype of an actual digital platform submission.

Consider these questions:

Will images enhance your message?
Have you effectively used video or audio links? How can color be used effectively?
Are there certain fonts, graphical enhancements, line spacing, or page layouts that work better than others?

Tips:
Find or create unique, appropriate, and professional-looking proposal formats that can be applied to your proposal.
Analyze the effectiveness of each. For example, each slide is equivalent to a tweet or a Facebook or LinkedIn page. Each slide should be labeled so it is clear what platform the messaging is created for.
Overall, the messages should be aligned on the similar topic and support each other to create a well-organized, succinct digital campaign.

Use document that is uploaded as a reference and enhance your final project. Make sure it’s directed at making a change and what was found helpful through the winter warrior project. How would the campaign be ran and what would societies input be?

Leadership through Serving Others

Servant leadership is an alternative approach to leadership where the leader’s purpose is to serve others. This leadership philosophy gained support in the 1970s, and it stems from the leader being a servant to others first and a leader second. It is a philosophy where the leader gains the respect and trust of others by putting their needs before his or hers. This leader motivates others through supporting them in achieving their goals.

Conduct research on Servant Leadership (i.e., Robert K. Greenleaf or others) and what it means to be a servant leader, and in a three- to four-page paper, complete the following:

-Analyze the relationship between servant leadership and ethical leadership, including moral intelligence.
-Analyze the relationship between servant leadership and at least one other values-based form of leadership such as transformational leadership, authentic leadership, or relational leadership.
-Choose a leader whom you believe to be a true servant leader, and assess why this person is a servant leader. Cite specific examples to support your conclusions.
-Analyze how servant leadership may affect your current organization if all leaders were to practice servant leadership as their dominant leadership style.

Managing Emotions

Discussion Question – Managing Emotions

There are times when you are hurt, defensive, joyous, reserved, controlled, or angry. Acting professionally means controlling your emotions. While outbursts are unwelcome as a way of communicating or expressing yourself, emotions are important indicators of authenticity and can be reflections of the ethical and cultural foundations of an organization.

For the first part of your post:

Compare two leaders you are familiar with, one who managed emotion well and one who did not manage emotion well. Provide specific examples to support your stance on the emotional management of these leaders. How did their emotional management affect the organization?

For the second part of your post, select any one of the following bullet points. Attempt to spread the bullet points out among class members (e.g., not have one bullet point answered by all course participants).

Assess how a leader can most effectively manage emotions in the workplace. As a leader, how can one show appropriate emotional self-control or leverage emotions for organizational benefit?
Propose a research-supported policy or guideline statement (three or four action items) an organization might adopt concerning emotional expression in the workplace. How would such a policy enhance organizational culture? How would such a policy enhance ethics in the organization?
Propose a brief set of coaching points for how leaders should handle a situation where an employee or a customer is extremely emotional to an unprofessional point?
Conclude your post with a three or four sentence summary of the most important point, lesson or takeaways from your research and analysis for your initial post.

Provide a substantive (500–1,000 words) initial discussion posting. Justify your answers with examples and reasoning.

Criminal Justice – Article Opinion

This week we are covering essentially “what works” within special topics under community policing, one of which is neighborhood disorder. Peak and Glensor (2018) briefly cover the link between social and physical disorder and eventual serious crime with Broken Windows Theory, concluding that police should have a strong interest in using problem-solving approaches to address neighborhood disorder as it impacts quality of life and fear of crime.

For this post, we will be taking a deeper look into Broken Windows and how it can (or cannot) be represented in community policing and problem-solving approaches. Broken Windows is perhaps one of the most polarizing theories within policing scholarship. Aside from mixed evidence, there is an additional layer of discussions surrounding the theory that have perhaps incorrect associations with political ideology.

introduces a special issue for the Journal of Research in Crime and Delinquency covering Broken Windows. In this introduction, the authors summarize several articles presented in the issue and cover core concepts of broken windows theory, how research has been extended over the years since its conception (specifically its application to community and problem-solving strategies for addressing disorder), and finally some limitations and future research.

The second reading by Kelling (2015)

is the final piece in this special issue, in which Kelling (2015) offers his thoughts on Broken Windows as one of the original authors.

After reading both, and along with your other discussion post options, please consider the following:

1. What are the strengths and weaknesses of the theory? Based on the evidence/arguments presented, do you agree that Broken Windows can (or should) be situated within community and problem-oriented policing approaches?
300 words

2. How does the broken window therory make sense to you?

Mini-Grant Proposal

Complete a mini-grant proposal using a template for a $2,000 grant to design a literacy-rich classroom environment. The grant board could be the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), your principal with Title 1 funds to allocate, a local business, or a faith-based organization. As you fill out the template for the mini-grant proposal, be sure to cite research/resources (at least 3).

As you write this proposal, remember that you are trying to persuade the grant board to fund your proposal. Make sure to include each of the following:

Why you need to create a literacy-rich classroom environment.
The materials, furniture, or supplies necessary to create this environment.
How will you incorporate behaviors that encourage other teachers to create literacy-rich environments?
How you will assess the impact of the literacy-rich environment on student success.
Follow the steps below to complete this assignment:

Complete all fields according to the template directions in the Literacy-Rich Mini-Grant Proposal Template.
Refer to the assignment rubric to ensure you meet the required criteria, including citing sources.

Create a contract “bumper sticker” as your initial post. Think of a term or phrase, fun or serious, that sums up contracts and the obligations they create that would fit on a car bumper sticker. Use a table cell for your bumper sticker and then fill it in with words and graphics.
