Scenario:

You are a manager for Merrilton Robotics and will soon be onboarding new employees in your department. You need to evaluate communication strategies and methods, provide a presentation for new employees based on your findings, and create an executive summary of your presentation. (This is just a fictitious scenario, no more information is given to you)

Communication strategies refer to how we communicate using word form, structure, persuasion, positives, and negatives. For example, we may use direct, pivoting, or indirect organization when formulating our paragraphs. To address how our strategies support or do not support it is important to understand the pros and cons of each method. Chapter 5 section 5.2d – 5.6 explains effective and ineffective Direct, Indirect, and Pivoting strategies.
The methods are email, letter, blog, and social media, one each. Chapters one (1) and two (2) provide information on the pros and cons of each method. Chapter 1 section 5b figure 1.9 describes advantages and disadvantages.

Planning for the Presentation

Who is your audience? Current company employees
What is your goal? Address how to utilize Communication Strategies and Methods in a business situation.
What important points do you want to convey? Describe a business situation where selected communication strategies and methods are used effectively. The situation may be more than one.
How do you present? Panopto w/ video, voice, and slides simultaneously

Task 2 requires us to put a PowerPoint presentation together addressing two communication strategies and Methods, and three aspects of at least one communication strategy and method.

The direction of the presentation is to provide an overview to staff, for example how to address a customer complaint utilizing a communication strategy and a communication method.

You should present the PowerPoint using Panopto.

The PowerPoint should provide at least eight slides, an introduction, one slide for each communication strategy, one slide for the three attributes of one of the selected communication strategies, one slide for each communication method, one slide for the three attributes of one of the selected communication methods, and a conclusion slide.
