Discuss 2 or 3 lasting impacts caused by COVID-19 on the healthcare delivery system and explain how leaders and organizations will need to adjust to the “long-term footprints” of COVID-19.

Discussion: COVID-19: The Lasting Impact

COVID-19 undoubtedly has made impact on the lives of many U.S. citizens. It has also altered the healthcare environment as well. Price (2020) noted that COIVD-19 “brought unprecedented strain on hospitals and clinics, from a shortage of testing and medical supplies to issues in access among rural and underserved populations. The disease has put a spotlight on some of these inequities, while also revealing holes in the healthcare delivery system that can have lasting side effects on patients and providers” (para. 1).
Discuss 2 or 3 lasting impacts caused by COVID-19 on the healthcare delivery system and explain how leaders and organizations will need to adjust to the “long-term footprints” of COVID-19. In addition, independently deliberate how the Soldiers’ Home in Holyoke will regain trust among staff, future residents, and the community.

What might the agents have done differently to be more effective persuaders?

*Based on what you learned from our class, describe the persuasion techniques that the agent(s) used to try to persuade you, including the use of different kinds of arguments and different social norms. Was the persuasion successful? Why or why not?
*What might the agents have done differently to be more effective persuaders? How would you try to persuade someone in this situation? Be specific, and back up your answers with relevant psychological theory.
For the conformity experience:
*What were the situational forces that created the conformity pressure (e.g., normative; informational)? Why were these forces strong in this situation?
*Did you conform? If so, was it public compliance or private acceptance? Why?
*What would have happened had you not conformed?
*What other situational factors might have made it more or less likely that you would conform in this situation? Use relevant psychological principles.

What theories, beliefs, values, and assumptions shape your perspective of the nursing paradigm?

1. Consider how you view the art and science of the profession. How do you view the practice of nursing? How do you define human being, health, nursing, and environment? What theories, beliefs, values, and assumptions shape your perspective of the nursing paradigm? Do you relate to a specific theory or theorist (consider theories outside of nursing- what about psychology, sociology, and other theories you have explored during your baccalaureate education)? Are you influenced by the ANA Code of Ethics or your personal faith? How would you articulate this philosophy to others?

Write a 1–3-page scholarly paper examining your personal nursing philosophy.

The paper should include the following components:

A brief summation of your current philosophy in the introduction of the paper.
Identification of 2 theoretical influences or elements that contribute to your philosophy of nursing. Both theoretical influences/ elements must have supporting citations and references. Provide rationale as to how or why these theories or elements influence your philosophy. Discuss your personal philosophy and your theoretical influences in relation to the art and science of nursing.
Your conceptualization of nursing. Highlight your personal understanding of the human being, health, nursing and the environment. This means provide a personalized definition for each. Then explain the interrelationship of concepts from your perspective with rationale. Briefly include a discussion of how this conceptualization of nursing influences your philosophy and is implemented in your practice.
A contrast or comparison of your philosophy of nursing at the beginning of the program to your current perspective. You must summarize your previous philosophy and compare or contrast 2 elements of the previous philosophy to your current philosophy. If you contrast an element, you are highlighting a change in your philosophy, identifying the factors that influenced the change, and communicating your current perspective. If you compare an element, you are highlighting a similarity between your previous and current philosophy and discussing how an idea or concept covered within the program fits within your philosophy.
