Case 1 | Software as a Service: ERP by the Hour

1. Would you trust an external provider with your organization’s data? Why or Why not? What would be needed to raise your trust in the reliability, security, and privacy of the data?

2. What are the potential drawbacks of using a relatively simple in house database with limited capabilites versus a more robust, SaaS database solution? Do the benefits outweigh these limitations? Why or Why not?

3. Are there any types of applications that should only be purcahsed rather than obtained throuhg a Saas relationship? If so, why or why not?

In short, Choose a perspective to approach this topic from (e.g. police officer, probation/parole officer, corrections officer, paramedic, judge etc.) Identify your chosen role (police, courts, EMS, corrections etc.). In your State, review the laws that are proposed for this legislative session (if none or you need additional choose laws that have/have not been passed in the last two years) Identify those laws (short description of what they entail and their bill number etc., Include information both positives and negatives of the laws/proposed laws, discuss the ramifications if the bills do and do not (or did) become law. Identify how you a CJ professional are going to implement the laws in your chosen profession. These laws need to pertain to mental health and criminal justice. Identify how other proposals you believe that could be implemented to improve your chosen topic.

Your culminating project will center on the relation of CLOs to the intersections and interactions of historical themes, current practices, relevant theory and philosophy, and personal cultural identity in education. A statement of personal philosophy of education is a reflective piece, 5-10 pages long, that summarizes your educational position on the purpose, process, nature, and ideals of education. As a reflection on your CLOs, your personal education philosophy explains the beliefs and ideas that underlie your thinking and regulate your actions.

The three primary financial statements tell us important and different things about a business. The balance sheet tells us about a company’s resources and claims on those resources, the income statement measures a company’s financial performance for a period of time, and the statement of cash flows reports the cash inflows and outflows of a company by category.

You and your business partner have been running your company for one year now—long enough for your accountant to prepare a complete set of financial statements for your review. Your business partner maintains that everything she needs to know about the business is contained in the balance sheet, the statement of cash flows, and the income statement.

As a business owner, discuss at least one item (account) reported on the income statement that would help you make decisions about future business operations. In addition, choose 1 of the questions below to answer based on your response:
What are two items (accounts) from the balance sheet that you would track on a regular basis? Why?
What are two elements on the statement of cash flows that you and your business partner would find informative and useful as decisions about the future are made?

some of the issues with respect to decision making, leadership, legalities and contracts, “saving face”,
hierarchical relationships, negotiations and so on. How would you manage workers in that country.
What motivates workers? Individual achievement or group achievement? How would you delegate
authority and responsibility? Can you empower lower level employees to make their own decisions? Or
do you need to give them specific tasks and watch them closely to assure that they are doing it the way
you want them to??

Explain how raising awareness of vitamin D deficiency amongst individuals with dark skin in the UK can improve service (NHS). Using The model for improvement, how can this be achieved and why is using awareness tools such as videos on social media can help this.

Explain how local governments work in Kansas, what do they do, how do they effect the state, etc. Balletpedia is a website that will probably have some information.

What is happening to the supply of women who are part of the workforce? What has motivated this change? Describe how different parts of the economy may have experienced shifts and changes in supply and demand. Provide at least two examples.
What has happened to demand in the workforce? Was this a shift in demand or a movement along the demand curve? Again, describe the effects on at least two different sectors of the economy.
How does the wage gap between women and men factor into the change in supply and demand in this case?
The book discusses how labor is derived demand. Thinking about the services demanded by families with two working parents, which sectors will be most affected by the trend of women opting out of the workforce?
