Module 3 Assignment: Short Response Paper.
After watching Sarah Jayne Blackmore’s TED Talk video in this module, think about the information from Chapter 3 of our textbook. How does the information in the TED Talk connect to at least one idea from Chapter 3: Cognitive Development ? Our textbook connects information about the brain to cognitive development processes, so please be sure to explain your answer.

As you write your paper, remember:
Please use the terminology from this week’s chapter to show that you understand the concept or concepts you choose to use in your response paper.
If, when responding to the question, you write about your personal experience, you don’t have to get extremely personal if you don’t want to. There are many different approaches to writing these response papers, and not all of them have to be deeply personal answers in order to be effective.
Because this is a response paper, you do not need any citations. Put all information in your own words. For example, if you use a term, don’t quote the textbook’s definition; put it in your own words. This is the best way demonstrate that you understand the concepts.
Short Response Paper Requirements
Your paper should be between 250-400 words, which is approximately a page to a page and a half, with the following formatting:
Papers must be typed. No uploaded photos of handwritten work will be accepted.
Double-spaced
One-inch margins
11 or 12 point font in a standard font, such as Calibri, Arial, or Times New Roman
The file must be a .pdf, .doc, or .docx . No other file types will be accepted.
TIP: As you see in the Short Response Paper Rubric, papers will be graded on mechanics as well as content. While the Spelling & Grammar tool in Microsoft Word won’t catch all of these kinds of errors, it will help you catch most of them, so please be sure to review your papers with Microsoft Word, and re-read your paper before submitting.
The assignment will be due by the date listed in the Course Schedule and will be assessed using the Short Response Paper Rubric.
Grading Standard: 40 points
