The primary take-away from this module has been that economic behavior is often guided by culture; What we make, sell and buy is guided by shared and learned meanings. How does culture guide your economic behavior? In a 350-600 word essay describe two things you have bought (or sold or made for sale) that were guided by shared traditions, symbols, values, meanings, etc.
The key to this assignment is that you demonstrate that you know the difference between psychology and culture. In other words, “I bought this color shirt because it is my favorite color” is incorrect. “I bought the pink one because it is associated with females or breast cancer awareness” is correct because it describes a shared, learned understanding.
