Childhood precedes adulthood, and it is the period that an individual is a child, and he does, experience, and participate in those activities that make up their childhood. Adulthood is on its side when an individual is matured enough to be considered an adult, and their lives are based on responsibilities and creating proper and reliable connections within society (Robins & Rutter, 2019). As much these stages or periods of one’s life might be different from each other, the outcomes of what one’s experience or the
personality of an individual when they grow up are majorly based on their childhood experiences. Therefore, it is appropriate to state that our childhood stage significantly affects our adulthood stage, including the career choice and its success, the kind of relationships that we form, and even our open mildness.
Some childhood experiences have proven to have effects on someone adulthood. Those childhood experiences affect adulthood, both positively and negatively. For instance, individuals who reach adulthood through surviving childhood experience are reported to have challenges in regulating emotions, difficulty establishing relationships, and low self-esteem. When the individual reaches adulthood, they take control of their lives and make decision and choices which they commit towards the dreams, desires and even career choices they admired when they were young. This can be seen by their academic performance, choices of the University or college they
attend, and the course they choose to pursue.
Then, after that, they apply for jobs in those organizations that have their career choice. That individual who had parental support during their childhood can develop appropriate and reliable relations. Those who were not supported are prone to make wrong life choices, and they hardly connect with their parents. The kind of life I am living today and the attributes that make up my personality are tied to
my childhood experiences and the kind of relationship that I had with my parents.
In conclusion, as much as childhood and adulthood are different stages that one goes through their life, childhood has more significance than adulthood. It lays the foundation over which an individual will become when they reach adulthood.
