Children’s story and paper

Prompt: Your book should be designed to address one problem, occurrence or common routine in the
life of young children, and you should specifically focus on one area of development within that
context.
Think about what is happening in children’s lives during the infant and toddler years –
perhaps common fears at that age (e.g., sleeping alone at night, going to the dentist, imaginary
monsters, stranger anxiety, separation anxiety). It may help to ask your parents or family about your childhood experiences, leaf through
children’s books, or perhaps watch some Sesame Street clips (which were designed to engage
preschool children while transmitting socio-emotional and literacy skills). Whatever you choose,
be sure to focus on one area of development (e.g., physical, cognitive, socioemotional).
NOTE:
• Write a story book that is at least 12 pages long (not including the front and back
covers).

You do not need to illustrate it yourself. You can
provide graphics that include photographs you have taken yourself, clip art, your own
drawings, or any other graphics you can legally use.

You can use a PowerPoint presentation, or alternatively, you can
use an online editing program.
