he’s a legalist and says that people can decide what path they go on

You only have to pick one and then you look at how their beliefs and proposals align with what solutions would be appropriate for a XYZ college cheating issue. And then you add in some supporting evidence to bolster your claims

Xunzi believed that people’s nature was inherently bad and that people had selfish desires that needed to be restrained through „yi“, or showing them their duty, or the right way

So anything that will show students what they should do and what is morally right at XYZ, what their duty is to XYZ as a student. Not enacting harsh punishments bc then they’ll just be afraid instead of choosing to go on the right path that has been shown them.

Perhaps students could all write down the honor code before tests, or there could be a speaker talking about how important academic honesty is…anything that shows students what’s right bc they’re inherently bad and will make a selfish choice to cheat if they believe it’ll help them
