Imagine that you are a reporter during the Civil War. What kind of writer would you be? What type of things would you like to write
about? In this assignment you will write
as if you were reporters during the Civil War. You get to decide if you will
write from the perspective of a Southerner or a Northerner. Your newspaper will
contain three articles with five relevant pictures (images, political cartoons,
and maps). The articles need to be written as if the events you described
happened just a few days ago during the Civil War time period. Each article needs to be 2 paragraphs AND
200+ words.
You will be assessed by how well you describe the events,
how many historical details you provide in your articles, the thoroughness of
your research, including citations, and the creativity of your newspaper. Each article should have a creative headline
and a byline (your first and last name). Grammar, spelling and punctuation
errors will result in a redo.
