The Clinical Bottom Line Paper is designed to integrate EBP concepts into the Core AT Curriculum. For the assignment you will create a diagnostic accuracy clinical question. This should be focused on a clinical examination test or clinical prediction rule. The following is the basic structure of the assignment. 1. Title (Captures the focus of the clinical bottom line) 2. Introduction (Brief summary of the problem/questions, provides background) 3. Clinical Question related to diagnostic accuracy of a clinical test or clinical prediction rule (PICO) 4. Search Terms Used (clear and concise list of search terms used to find best available evidence) 5. Summary of Findings (Details a thorough, yet concise synthesis of the evidence, includes key EBP concepts of ratios, sensitivity, specificity, reliability, etc.) 6. Clinical Bottom Line (Important take home message, clearly answers the questions, at least 5 sentences.) 7. Application of information to clinical practice as an AT (Relates summary of findings to AT practice, explains why the bottom line is important). 8. References (AMA format Download AMA format for reference page and in-text citations. No set number of articles but somewhere around 5-8, evidence should be current within the last 10 years.) 9. Format (The length of the assignment should be ~3 pages (does not include reference page), single spaced, 12 point Times New Roman font, 1″ margins.)
