Clinical Rotation Goals for Women’ s Health and Pediatrics

Goals for Semester:
Within the first 2 weeks of clinical, students should identify four goals they want to accomplish with each clinical site. They should discuss these with their preceptor and adjust according to the feedback of the preceptor/site. These goals should be measurable and achievable over a 15week period. The goals should be able to show progression from development of proficiency of basic skills to providing high quality primary care in the role of the NP by the end of the program

1. Goals to accomplish in the outpatient primary care as an FNP student includes;
to be able to demonstrate proficiency while doing interviews, taking patient’s history, doing the physical examination of the patient and be able to correctly document the findings
To be able to identify some of the clinical problems in various populations in the out patient setting
To be able to apply critical thinking and skills on decision making while collecting and analyzing data
To be able to put concepts together from pathophysiology and make diagnosis, differential diagnosis and apply necessary interventions that are appropriate in management of various conditions in the outpatient
Be able to show proficiency in presenting patient assessment and findings
