Students will write a paper describing how they would prefer to approach the work of clinical supervision. They will identify a model and then outline their supervision philosophy and describe the qualities, skills, and experiences expected of a competent clinical supervisor. This paper will include a discussion of each of the following topics:
1/ the students’ growth mindset, 2/ capacity for professional reflexivity, as well as 3/ examples of their own best practice behaviours such as actively seeking feedback. Finally, 4/ students will also reflect on their personal experiences in the roles of both 5/ counsellor and 6/ clinical supervisor.
This integrative reflection paper must be 10 -12 pages, double-spaced, using a minimum of 8 – 10 peer reviewed sources from the past 5 years. APA formatting and citations are mandatory as the failure to cite sources appropriately constitutes plagiarism.
