Cognitive Psychology Module Coursework

The title of the essay is as follows:
What perceptual information processing problems would a designer need to address
to create a machine with humanlike perception? With reference to relevant cognitive
psychology literature, relate your answer to human visual perception.

You are also asked to
submit, as an Appendix, your essay plan (10% of the coursework mark). The total word
count for both your essay and your essay plan is 2,500 words excluding references.
A good piece of work will answer the essay question, will be logically and clearly
structured, with fluent and well-signposted content, and will be referenced
throughout both in-text and with full references at the end. Avoid being overly
descriptive; make use of critical analysis. You should not rely solely upon material
from the textbooks and course platform but make full use of the Library to research
the content, for example, to see if there have been any up-to-date studies. You should
aim to cite a minimum of 8-9 peer-reviewed references, to include both theoretical
and empirical literature.
Your essay plan does not need to follow any specific format as this will largely be a
personal thought process, but part of the discipline of good writing is in planning and
structuring the content in advance and then sticking to the plan. It is recommended
that this uses no more than 10% of your total word count.
