In your journal response, choose one of the topic options below:
Option 1: Describe how linguistic and cultural diversity might impact assessment bias and the manner in which individuals collaborate.
Option 2: Discuss the implications on the field of special education of increased diversity in the student population. Include examples of linguistic, cultural, and socioeconomic diversity, as well as changing family structures.
Option 3: Explain how cultural and/or linguistic diversity can impact the use of assessment and how teachers can work toward reducing or eliminating test bias.
Option 4: Define the critical elements of collaboration, and describe the role of interactive communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution in effective collaboration. Provide examples of strategies teachers can use to engage family members across cultures.
