Goals
After thoroughly reading Chapters 1-3 of the McCloud textbook, we are going to put these theories to use by applying them to comics of your choice.
After Reading the McCloud Chapters, 1-3, complete your final draft of the Formal McCloud Response by matching theory with literature.
What I’m looking for when I grade:
Pinpoint and work with a few theories that mean something to you. Or better yet, theories you found confusing, hard to deal with. The process of writing about them in this response may surprisingly clarify these concepts in preparation for our first graphic novel-length work and the midterm.
By “work with a few theories,” I mean explain the theories and match them with at least one comic of your choice to illustrate your understanding of each theory.
Please include a picture of what you are writing about if it’s easy to upload and insert from your phone. Look up and choose “Insert” and Media from the toolbar.
The final draft should be at least 2 FULL pages (double-spaced), preferably MLA format, and can be organized how you want, but should include at least three theories and matching examples for each. (However, once again, the more theories/concepts & corresponding examples, the better for practice in matching theory with literature which you will need for the midterm exam.)
Proofread 300 times before turning it in!
