As you’ve learned from your chapter reading and module presentations, hybridization happens when the merging of dissimilar cultures produces a new hybridized form. Hybridization may happen naturally as people converge in the same space and take on new lifestyle behaviors. Fashion, food, music, and sports are elements where hybridization has taken the most shape in our modern culture.
Select a video that describes hybridization or acculturation of your favorite fashion, food, music, sports, or art form. Save the URL of the video you use in this assignment and analyze the following:
If the original language and culture was acculturated or maintained its enculturated form.
The global impact of the music, sport, or art.
The benefit and advantage or disadvantage to the indigenous culture and the receiving cultures of the music, sport, or art.
