Design an outreach program for a specific community to reduce the risk of infectious diseases using the readings & lectures as a guide. (Specific communities could include schools, drug treatment centers, homeless shelter, etc) This project paper should be 4-5 pages. You must cite at least 3 peer reviewed sources in APA format.
Some basic considerations your outreach program should contain are:
What are the characteristics of the target population?
What is the best way to reach them?
What type of information/service does this community need to reduce the risk of infectious diseases?
Which diseases would they be at risk to contract?
What cultural diversity issues would this community have to address in implementing an outreach program?
What are the ethical issues that you may encounter?
What is politically sensitive about it? How will that effect how you do the work?
How would you work with other agencies, and which agencies?
How would you structure counseling services and where?
What obstacles would you encounter?
What would the staff look like? Number of staff, background, duties?
Would you include harm reduction strategies? Why or why not?
