Compare and contrast the speaker’s experience of the city in the poems “London”, by William Blake, and “Composed Upon Westminster Bridge”, by William Wordsworth.

Your thesis should broadly characterize the impression that the city makes on each speaker and the general difference in their tone or attitude toward what they observe. In the body of the essay give a full and textually specific explanation of how each poem conveys the general ideas you described in the thesis.
Since this is a comparative discussion, you may structure the main body as a series of paragraphs in which you treat comparable/contrastable elements or aspects of each poem. Or you may do a full 2-4 paragraph exposition of each poem in turn, but in which you address points in each poem that relate to counterpoints in the other. Don’t make them two separate and topically unrelated mini-essays.
