Students will write a 15-page research paper (approximately 5,000 words) comparing the governments (or select components of these governments) of at least two political communities. At least one of these governments must be contemporary. Each paper should advance a single argument in the form of a thesis statement, supported by a close reading of a plethora of credible, secondary sources—and, if relevant, the assigned readings from this course. Due at the beginning of the last day of class (Wednesday, December 8).
