You will write a historiographical review essay of
18 to 20 pages (double-spaced). You need
to analyze at least five scholarly books and two journal articles related to
the specific theme you wish to examine. In
your paper, you should identify the terms of the scholarly debate on your
topic, historiographical trends and/or developments, the thesis of each work,
the strengths and weaknesses of each, and the ways in which the works speak to
one another. All ideas and quotes taken
from other sources must be cited using footnotes according to the Chicago Manual of Style. For the “Chicago-Style Citation Quick Guide,”

Chicago format at the end of your essay.

Final Paper topic: Major questions to be explored and looked for in the sources, ie: Conservative identity that would lead to conservative nationalism.
Short paper 2: a shorter example of the type of paper this is meant to be. a review that addresses topics and thesis in the books while focusing on the major research questions from the final paper topic. additionally, this paper shows how the sources are in conservation with one another. and it has my teachers notes so you can see how i have messed up and can do better.
